FORMER World Superbike champion James Toseland has been appointed as an ambassador for Donington Park.

The double WSB champion, who retired last year from a career-ending wrist injury, will represent the circuit by attending races and working within a promotional role over the circuits 2012 racing and trackday season.

Of the major bike events that will see his involvement is the fifth round of the WSB championship in May.

Toseland commented on his new role: “Donington has always had a special place in the hearts of British motorsport fans and riders alike and it’s great to see that it has a fantastic racing calendar in place for 2012.

“I’m excited to see it quite rightly re-staking its claim as the number one bike sport venue in the UK and I’m honoured to be able to play a part in Donington’s season. The challenge for the World Superbike Championship should be really hotting up by the fifth round at Donington, which means there will be plenty of excitement and on track battles for the large crowd expected to cheer on the strong British contingent.”

I did not spot Donnington on the WSBK calendar. That's very very very cool!
