Despite WSB rumours, the radical-riding Spaniard still wants to stay in the big league
MOTOGP STAR Toni Elias has said that he wants to stay in racing's premier league, despite increased rumours that a WSB switch with Yamaha is on the cards to ride the 2009 R1 alongside Noriyuki Haga. Elias is also being linked with a a possible switch from his current Ducati berth to a Kawasaki move in the blue riband class with Jorge Martinez 'Aspar'.
He said: ”I want to be in MotoGP. We have some new parts that have let me really enjoy riding the Ducati now. I have a much better feeling with the rear of the motorcycle now.
"The new parts have allowed me to feel how the tyre is working and what's going on with it. I have never lost faith in myself and I knew that I would find the pace with the bike once we have changed some parts on the bike. I could have got on the podium in Laguna, but I made a mistake there. Now I am enjoying racing in MotoGP though. I want to stay here and show what I can do."
He might want to stay there, but the rumour is getting stronger by the day...
