RACING MOTORCYCLE builder Eskil Suter showed-off his new Moto2 machine for the first time at Misano, at last weekend's San Marino GP.
Suter, a former GP racer and experienced constructor, with a portfolio including the MuZ racer, the Petronas Superbike engine, confirmed that the basic price for the Moto2 racer would be 75,710 Euros; 20,000 Euros less if you provide your own suspension, wheels and brakes.
The bike is a conventional aluminium beam-chassis bike, with fully adjustable geometry.
“Aerodynamics will be very important with the identical engines, but we also wanted it to be good looking,” said Suter. “We aimed at making it very compact, the same size as a 250: but in design terms it is more like a MotoGP bike.”
Other chassis builders in the picture for the new series are: Harris Performance Products, Bimota, Fabtech (former Team Roberts chassis suppliers), Moriwaki, Burning Blood (another Japanese firm); while Aprilia, Bimota, Tech 3, Kalex Engineering and TSR also have machines in the pipeline.
