"I'm not so sure Silverstone's going to be great for the bike racers" says former World Champion
FORMER 500cc World Champion Kevin Schwantz has expressed his sadness about Donington Park's loss of MotoGP.
The track has lost the contract to run the British round of the MotoGP series to arch rival Silverstone circuit. In return, Donington has gained the rights to run Formula One car races instead. But that doesn't please Schwantz, who won the British GP four times at the East Midlands circuit:
"I have only driven a road car around Silverstone but it seems pretty flat and featureless and I'm sure that they will have a lot of work to do. I know the F1 guys rave about it but I'm not so sure it's going to be great for the bike racers."
"Every bit of Donington was challenging all they way down Craner Curves to the Old Hairpin up to Hollywood and, of course the corner, that was named after me."
