MICHAEL SCHUMACHER has made his first public appearance since a huge motorcycle crash last month that left him unconscious by the side of the track.

The seven-time F1 World Champion was on hand for Ferrari to observe the team's build up and testing regimes in the run up to the 2009 season.

Paddock insiders say that the German is struggling with the after effects of his severe neck injury suffered in the high-speed crash that happened as part of his preparations for racing in this year's IDM Superbike Championship in Germany. According to them Schumacher could barely move his head or neck whilst watching Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen going round in circles.

Ouch.
