Rossi: 'Laguna was the most important victory'

Seven-time world champion speaks out on the importance of his stunning USGP win

VALENTINO ROSSI has said that the last round of the MotoGP championship, at Laguna Seca in America was the race that will decide this season's championship.

Speaking to the Spanish press, Rossi said: "Laguna was the most important victory of the year for me. I think that because it arrived at a time when nobody expected it. On Saturday we lost a second in our times. Because of that I believe that the victory in Laguna is decisive for the championship.

"I would say that fundamentally because Casey must now understand that we are very strong and we know that still we must improve a little, because we are not only racing against a great Ducati, but also a great rider.

"I do not like that the Laguna race finished angry, but I am sure it will all calm down."

Laughed my tits off at the MCN letters page this week.

Although I hope that none of the pricks boo him next year or give wanker signs (at the end of the day he has more talent in his little finger than they could ever dream of) I doubt there will be many Stoner flags being waved.

I dont think he will....i think he will walk Brno and at Misano Rossi will do a 'Laguna' on him and history will be repeated

I think after Misano the majority should go to someone else other than Stoner as i think Pedrosa will be at the sharp end of the lest few too.

Unless Rossi does something really daft he should just scrape the championship as long as the other victories are shared between Danni and Casey.
