"I am very content because it has been a long time since I drove a car like this in the mud" says MotoGP legend after UK shakedown
The eight-time World Champion picked the brains of Stobart VK M-Sport Matthew Wilson during the test which acted as a reminder of fast driving before a couple of four-wheeled contests coming up over the next month. Speaking after the test, Rossi said: "I am very content because it has been a long time since I drove a car like this in the mud. Today we have begun here some good preparation in the forest and we will now compete in Monza, Italy and then after that we will race in the Rally of Wales in December.
"The new control tyres, which we didn't have on the car when I drove in New Zealand in 2006 felt a little different, but the car is very fast so I have felt well with it.
The last time Rossi competed in the Rally of Wales was in 2002 when he crashed after around 12 miles, he added: "My main objective is to finish the race. In New Zealand when I raced I finished 11th and I will try to improve the result."
You gotta love the Rossi, even his winter is going to be filled with fast motors and full-on action.
Hmm, Rossi in a Ford?
How does that fit in with Fiat/Yamaha?
But, of course, Yamaha did design the Ford engines in Fiesta's etc.
Roll on Rally of Wales. Great extra publicity for a British event.

Hopefully he'll do better than in the nail of a Peugeot he drove and ended up in a tree all those years ago. Good luck Vale!
Anything he does away from the MotoGP circus won't be affected by his contract, so he can drive what he wants, a'la Ford in Monza rally, Ford in Wales rally, Ferrari F1 tomorrow and Friday at Mugello, etc
