BMW are inviting British GS riders to compete for an opportunity to represent the country in the 2012 BMW Motorrad GS Trophy in South America.

The 2012 GS Trophy UK qualifier will take place at the BMF Show at the Peterborough Showground over the weekend of 18-20 May. Competitors will take part in a range of off-road challenges on a selection of 2012 BMW adventure bikes, alongside road-based sections on their own GS motorcycle.

As the weekend progresses the prospective riders will be eliminated at the end of each round, with a final event taking place on Sunday in front of the assembled public and a panel of judges, including veteran Dakar rider and BMW Off Road Skills chief instructor Simon Pavey.

In 2010 Team GB won the GS Trophy, beating the other countries over 2,000km and three South African nations.

The entrance fee to take part in the qualifier is £150, including the £42 weekend camping ticket to the show. Each competitor will be based in a dedicated BMW GS Trophy campsite, guest passes for friends and family are available for £50.

Riders can book a place in the UK Qualifying Event by entering here.
