HM Plant Honda man conscious and talking, say team
HAVING ACHIEVED pole position for this year's North West 200 Superbike race, HM Plant Honda's Steve Plater has a suspected broken wrist after a huge accident in today's practice session.The eight-time NW200 winner crashed at Quarry Hill on the Coast Road and will now miss Saturday's race. Plater's HM Plant Honda team confirmed the rider's injuries were not serious."Steve was able to speak to the medical team and the team manager at the scene," said a spokesman."He is understandably in pain and therefore has been administered with pain-killing treatment and is now in hospital where he can be examined further to establish the precise nature of any injuries he may have sustained."Steve would like to thank everyone for the good wishes already received and the team will issue a further update in due course."Final Superbike times1.
