Reigning world champion clinches sixth consecutive pole position

CASEY STONER has taken pole position for tomorrow's Czech GP at a rain-soaked Brno during qualifying today.

The Australian mastered torrential conditions to set a fastest time of 2:11.657. It was his sixth consecutive pole position of the season.

Arch rival Valentino Rossi, who went quickest in yesterday morning's timed practice session, qualified second on the grid for tomorrow's race. Rossi's best lap was over a second slower than Stoner's

Kawasaki's John Hopkins made a spectacular return to form after a seven-week lay-off due to injury, claiming the last spot on the front row, with a best lap of 2:12.959

Britain's James Toseland fell early in the session but remounted to clinch 16th position.
