Mad Marco's first thoughts after signing for Gresini Honda to race in MotoGP from 2010
MARCO SIMONCELLI has said he's relishing a fight with best buddy Valentino Rossi, after signing a two-year deal to ride in MotoGP with Gresini Honda.
Visordown's MotoGP mole gave you the heads up that Marco's move was on the cards and now the team have confirmed Simoncelli wil be joining them from 2010.
Simoncelli had also been linked to Tech 3 Yamaha, but the Italian plumped to sign for Honda following negotiations over the past few weeks. Sppeaking about his new role, Simoncelli said:
"Next year I will be a member of the Honda Gresini team, and I'm very happy because it is an Italian team. I think it is a very strong team, I am very happy to be with Honda and Fausto. As many people know, I am a friend of Valentino Rossi and sometimes train together, go to motocross, but I would love to fight him next year because that would be doing it very well. "
Fausto Gresini commented: "I am very proud to announce that next year Marco Simoncelli will be part of our team. Thanks to San Carlo, which will continue to sponsor this project in 2010, we have closed the agreement with Marco.
