IT LOOKS increasingly likely that Valentino Rossi will sign up for another two years with Yamaha.
Managing Director of Yamaha Motor Racing, Lin Jarvis, added more fuel to the rumour fire (oh yes...) at the weekend by saying on motogp.com: “At Mugello, as scheduled, we had a meeting, Masao Furusawa, Valentino and myself. It was a very positive meeting. The good news, not only for us, but for MotoGP, is that we are discussing a two year programme with Valentino.
“I think 90% certainty has become 95% and we are in agreement on the main line. Basically, there is nothing really complicated to sort out, it is simply that it is a big contract. There are always details and that´s it, We just need to get the paperwork done.”
Cue another string of limited-edition paintjobs from Yamaha to help them sell more R6 and R1 motorcycles.
