REPSOL HONDA are due to make an announcement today regarding Dani Pedrosa's fitness for this weekend's US Grand Prix at Laguna Seca.
Pedrosa has undergone minor surgery to his damaged left wrist in a bid to be fit enough to ride in this weekend's MotoGP round at Laguna Seca.
Pedrosa fell from the lead in last Sunday's Sachsenring race. In the 160mph crash the Repsol Honda rider suffered both finger and wrist fractures to the left hand and a sprain to his right ankle.
Pedrosa´s surgeon, Dr. Xavier Mir said: "Dani has a general inflammation of the left hand with hematomas in the sheathes of both extending tendons.
"He also has a displaced fracture of the distal phalanx of the left pointing finger, which has been reduced. Further on, he also has a sprain of the proximal interphalaxical joint of the middle finger of the left hand which has been totally immobilized. Finally, he has undergone a fixation of a fracture of the big bone of the left wrist by an arthroscopic technique. It is confirmed that Dani has suffered a lateral external sprain of the right ankle."
Ouch.
"A decision as to whether he rides in the United States or not will be taken either on Tuesday or Wednesday," Honda announced.
We'll keep you posted on any developments throughout the day.
