DANI PEDROSA has been defending his decision to switch to Bridgestone tyres in MotoGP by telling the Spanish press that: "I don't have to explain anything about what I do to Alberto (Puig) or anybody else."
Pedrosa said that he considers the move from Michelin to Bridgestone a 'thing of the past' and wants to get on with the remaining blue riband season.
The Spanish Smurf has, for the first time, explained the main reasons for his switch to the Japanese rubber saying: "I looked at the for improved confidence mainly. I wanted to feel safe when the grip level dropped at different circuits. I wanted to know what the tyres would do on different times of surface and in cold and hot conditions.
"The problems I was having with Michelins would have been different on different tracks. At Brno and Laguna Seca I had problems going into a corner, at other track it was the exit that caused problems. My problem was finding the right tyre for the right track."
