MOTOGP BIG Boss Carmelo Ezpeleta has confirmed that there will be no Friday track action in MotoGP for the 2010 season. Speaking to Spanish journalists, Ezpeleta explained that the change is being brought in to help cut costs in the championship.
He said: "During 2010 there will only be two days, Saturday and Sunday. We must take these measures to reduce the costs, there is no other reason. Our objective is that we deliver the maximum spectacle for the costs. We have spoken with all the factories taking part and we will be running the championship weekend over two days from next year."
Carmelo also went on to talk about the growth of WSB against the dwindling MotoGP grid, saying: "Superbike is a championship that represents the world of the production motorcycle where we are reserved for prototypes. In any case, the great champions have been all here.
"I do not see any problem that WSB improves every year. We are those that must improve."
