French company committed to supplying the right rubber for this weekend's Czech GP
MICHELIN IS taking more types of tyre compounds to the Brno GP this weekend than ever before.
After being caught-out by a drop in temperatures at the Laguna Seca race the french firm says it won't make the same mistake again.
This weekend will be doubly tough for the company however, rivals Bridgestone have won at the circuit for the past two years and the Brno had recently been re-surfaced in a more abrasive layer.
Michelin have run two testing sessions with their developmental riders to gather data in the run-up to this weekend's round.
Michelin´s Jean-Philippe Weber said: "We will return to the types of construction that we used at places like Qatar and Catalunya, these are constructions that deliver a much wider working range than those which we used at Laguna Seca. So we will use the type of construction that has already brought us success this year, with front and rear compounds adapted to Brno."
Valentino Rossi was the last Michelin winner at Brno, on the Yamaha in 2005.
