IT LOOKS as though Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo may have hit on the ideal solution to sorting out his arm-pump problem - by shifting his handlebars further forward.

The Spanish former mutli-World Champion is to try a new riding position set-up during Sunday's race at Estoril in an effort to ease the pain he's been experiencing in his forearms during races.

The condition hasn't plagued Lorenzo during either practice or qualifying, after visiting Dr Xavier at the Clinica Dexeus in Barcelona en route to Estoril Lorenzo was told that the problem would not need surgery and that he could work it out by a combination of massaging and stretching. His crew chief Ramon Forcada said:

"It's no big problem. We will try some different things with set-up to help. The muscle pressure is good in his arms."
