A message to Pedrosa, perhaps?

SPANISH multi World Champion Jorge Lorenzo has spoken out about his amazing ride to second place in Qatar and what he really thinks of rivals Valentino Rossi and Dani Pedrosa.

Speaking to Spanish press, he said: "We all want to win at Jerez, but I will be a man about what happens there. If Dani wins the race then I will congratulate him on the achievement. That is how my parents brought me up to be."

The comments have apparently been spurred on by the lack of congratulations from Pedrosa to Lorenzo after the MotoGP rookie's stunning ride, first time out a couple of weeks ago.

But Lorenzo is at least aiming high for himself, saying that he: "Will be the world-wide champion at some point." The double 250cc World Champ went on to land a couple more verbal jabs at Pedrosa, adding: "Each person is responsible for what he says and does. If I were in his place I would have congratulated a newcomer who had managed to be second.

"For the past 20 years things have happened very quickly for me, but I continue to be the same as always, with my defects and my virtues. I always I act how I feel about things."

Jorge said that in his eyes team-mate Valentino Rossi is: "The best rider in history. I say that from my heart, what happened at Qatar for him was because of tyres and I am sure that he will be fighting for the win in Valencia.

"For me it will be an emotional time to race in Valencia in the MotoGP class, I hope it goes as well as last year when I won on the 250. But we are not going to let the Qatar result go to our heads, we are just looking to the next race - concentrating our efforts on Valencia. I'm not even thinking about the championship yet."

Danny boy is alright, he does his talking on the track

A bit like that well like German car driver, he comes across a lot better when interviewed in his native lingo.

We can't all live in whore-gay land.

LUV DP, A miserable old sod.

Does his talking on the track, he only won 1 race last year, and was gifted 2nd place in the championship.

Lorenzo, wasn't too keen on him and the jury is still out, but i think people will grow to like him alot, because i think he is going to open a can of whoop ass on motogp in the coming season, especially if he is regulary beating Mr.Rossi week in week out.

You just know with all those ego's on track, that one of them is going to go to shite and start slagging the other riders...bring it on!

Imagine only finishing second. The shame of it.
Posted: 18/03/2008 19:12

I appreciate what you are saying pete, but he was supposed to be wiping the floor with all and sundry, thats why Honda hired him and built the bike around him and his weight advantage...not quite worked out like that really has it......and he still can't outbrake for shite!!

I think it's fair to say, honda have got caught out over the past year or so. The 800 was supposed to be easy for them, just loose the 5th cylinder, but they came up short.

You're quite right that he is "weak" on the brakes though.

To fair to the lad, I can't recall him saying himself that motoGP was going to be a cakewalk. I think the season is going to very interesting. No pressure for DP next race, it's only Jerez!

Lorenzo had a fair bit of bad press prior to the season opener, mainly about his 'so called' arrogance. But if his comments after Qatar are typical of the man, then maybe it was all hype. He speaks a lot of sense, as far as I'm concerned.

Good on yer, go get 'em.

I'll be on your side Pete. i still think DP is the most talented of the new generation. he feels he doesnt have to be all smiley and happy toward the cameras and journo's. he's had some shit luck too.

Well, first of all its good to see Lorenzo knows the race calendar  Valencia??

And, although he is a good rider, I don't think Dani Pedrosa is as good everyone says...results speak for themselves. And you can't blame Honda for all of it because the Yamaha has always been rubbish and Rossi still manages to do alright'ish'. I have to say i have always thought Casey Stoner is better than Pedrosa since he was riding the KTM in 125's i don't know why, there was just something about him. He has now got the best bike and is riding brilliantly and the results speak for themselves...

I don't like Pedrosa's attitude much, along with most Spanish riders of late. Sete Giveupnow and Lorenzo are the same, everything is brilliant until something goes wrong, then the dummy comes out and they sulk because they aren't getting their own way.

Stoner doesn't have much of a personality either off the track apparently...

For me, Rossi is the one, although he has gone off the boil a bit lately but i hope and think he will be back...he is great on the track and off it too and it doesn't matter where he comes or what happens he still congratulates the winners etc and is happy when th camera's are around. (most of the time anyway i think).

Let's just hope Stoner doesn't walk away with it again this year...hopefully it will all change at the next round but we'll see!
