Lorenzo fractured both ankles in the huge crash

YAMAHA’S JORGE Lorenzo has had a massive highside in the first free practice session for this Sunday’s MotoGP race in Shanghai, China that early reports are suggesting has left him with two fractured ankles and will not be able to race on Sunday.

Lorenzo has also suffered a badly cut right knee. Lorenzo has been transferred to the Huashan Hospital where tests will take place to determine just how bad the injuries are.

Team boss Daniele Romagnoli said: "At the moment I do not believe that Jorge is able to race because he has so much pain in his ankles.”

I've seen the guy do some spectacular recoveries in the past but this one looks more like a skydive.

Suprised he has not got massive leg injuries after that, and yep hungry where was the traction control there?

This is a comment from Steve Parish...."He had an operation on his arm, after the race in Estoril. He was suffering from compartmental syndrome, which occurs when muscles get too big for the arm. Surgery helps loosen muscle compression, which relieves pain."

It is pretty common and plenty of other riders have had it.

I wonder if his arm had fully recovered!!

Get well soon anyway.

Yeah I'm sure he'll ride this Sunday.

It's all about the points and keeping the title within your grasp..

But then he doesnt have to run around kicking a football on a broken ankle does he ?

Yep, he's gonna race...takes more than a fractured ankle to keep a gran prix rider down. He actually needs someone to lift him on and off the bike though...

I think Mick Doohen had to be lifted off the and on the bike when he fucked his leg the first time in the early 90s. Think he still won races in that state too.

Bet Pedrosa's pissed off....heh heh.

I couldn't stand Lorenzo last year, arrogant, full of himself, but i quite like his work ethic, just gets on with it and has put his money where his mouth is.

Good luck to the lad.

He's livened things up with Rossi. Bet the Yammy garage is a friendly, back slapping (or should that be stabbing) fun place to be??

this seemed to make him wince a little http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfQfypi0ph0

you cannot fail to be impressed with the lad and i did feel for him when he was sat on the bike in the pits during qualifying. he really did look in pain and fed up with it.

BIPOSTO

The guys from Monty Python would laugh at him, "Tis only a flesh wound"

Anyway, C;mon Bradders, on Pole again, can he do it this time?

Marko

Seeing Lorenzo today and thinking how many pain killing injections he must have had, reminded me of the story Terry Rymer told years back when he was a stand in rider for the Lucky Strike Suzuki team, he'd bashed his leg up pretty bad in a fall and Costa (the Doc, not the coffee) pumped that much shite into him, he leg went sleep during the race and he (Rymer) had to keep lifting his leg back on to the footrest as it kept falling off.

From what i recall, Rymer wasn't very complimentary about Dr.Costa, alledgedly calling Costa a bit of a butcher...lol

I wonder if anyones asked to see his certificates?
