TWICE WORLD 250cc Champion and this year’s MotoGP rookie sensation Jorge Lorenzo has said that the 2008 title may already be out of his reach.
Speaking to MotoGP.com, the Fiat Yamaha rider said: “We had a chance to win the championship, but I think after the crash (in Mugello last weekend – Ed) we are out of it. So we have to concentrate on every race from now on just to have fun and to provide fun for everyone who watches on TV.
Now 28 points behind championship leader Valentino Rossi, third placed Lorenzo added: “We crashed at Mugello and it is very disappointing, but we cannot change the past. We have to look to the future, stay motivated and the good results will return soon. Two hours after the race I had forgotten it and I was only thinking about this weekend´s race. We have good luck that we are riding again just one week later.”
We reckon it’s a good bit of mind games from the Spaniard, don’t you believe for one second that he’s giving up on the title – probably just lulling Rossi and second placed Pedrosa into a false sense of security.
