Toseland ... another huge testing crash

James Toseland highsided his Tech3 Yamaha during the weekend's IRTA Official MotoGP test at Jerez.
The British hopeful lost the back-end on the high-speed third turn, with 16 minutes of the session remaining, while he was in 15th place.
During the highside, Toseland landed on the tarmac then bounced into the gravel, where he was flipped over. His Airoh helmet's visor detached from his lid and was flung far from where he eventually landed, meanwhile the helmet's aperture dug in, scooping up gravel. His bike also cartwheeled into the gravel and was destroyed.
Toseland lay motionless, clearly in pain and was placed on a stretcher by marshals before being taken to the circuit medical centre where he was assessed and then flown to Cadiz hospital for further precautionary scans.
At Cadiz, Toseland was diagnosed as suffering concussion, a broken metatarsal bone in his right foot and a sprained right ankle, but he was given the all-clear by specialists. The 28-year old, about to start his second MotoGP season, will fly home to the UK on Monday to recover before the Losail nightrace on April 12.
Colin Edwards, Toseland's Tech3 team-mate was tenth fastest.
