MotoGP: I just need a bit of luck says Toseland

MotoGP hopeful reckons there's a good result in store at Motegi

JAMES TOSELAND has not had a good start to his season. A couple of pre-race crashes and a public fallout with team mate Colin Edwards have heaped the pressure on the young Brit hopeful.

Finishing just 16th place in the opening round at Qatar, Toseland has yet to score a point this season, made even harder by the fact his fellow Yamaha riders, Rossi, Lorenzo and Edwards all finished in the top four. However, the former World Superbike Champion reckons they had a lot of catching up to do at Qatar.

As the teams and riders approach round two at Motegi this weekend, Toseland commented: "I'm looking for time on the bike and a bit of luck, too. My guys have put in a lot of effort and I'm confident I can get a good result in Japan for the team."

At last year's Motegi round, Toseland finished 11th, Valentino Rossi finished 1st.

John..

I'd love to see JT make an impact in the results instead of seemingly trying to be to media savvy, being able to play a piano is all well and good but he should put all that bollocks behind him while his Moto GP career is on the line.

I am a fan of his BTW.

I like him to John but he's not cutting it,he needs to at least be beating his team mate

Posted: 22/04/2009 at 20:46

John..

Definitely.

He'd of done a better job if he'd stuck with his old crew chief and not rocked the boat with Colin, I mean since he's falling out with Colin his form has taken a helluva nose dive.

He's putting a brave face on things saying that he's not bothered and he's his own man but the results so far are showing that to be not quite true.

Yes the crew chief change has totally worked in Colin's favour,i think he could do alright this season,he's past winning it though

Yes, I beleive one of the reasons for wanting the change was the language barrier!

...So it's OK for Colin to have to put up with it?

Think it was the Crew Chief who couldn't understand JT's Yorkshire accent

i'm a big colin fan but to be honest,he was never capable of winning a moto gp title.

John..
Colin is a class act, I hope he gets a win this year, I nearly jumped through the ceiling when he threw that win away at Assen in 2006 and handed the win the Nicky.

Why is it that most WSBK Champions never make good GP riders

He's as good as Nicky, maybe if he'd had a bit of luck he'd of won a title like his fellow countryman.

edwards can develop a bike, toseland can't, simple as, now toseland isn't getting edwards' settings, he's gonna go further and further backwards

How can he go further and further backwards?

2010 JT will be back in BSB - you heard it here first!

get someone decent on that bike...NOW!!!!!!!

Ducati Pete

Fuck me, by your logic, CE would have been back in WSB years ago, after failing to produce for several years on factory bike.

It's only coming up to the 2nd race of the season, JT deserves a chance. He wasn't bad at all last year, at least during the first half of the season.
