GRESINI HONDA announced today that Shinya Nakano will be the team's new rider for 2008. The Italian team also announced they are releasing Tony Elias.
The team's move to secure Nakano has dashed Max Biaggi's hopes of making a comeback to MotoGP. It's rumoured the Italian was in talks with the squad but Honda weren't too keen the rehire the Emperor after their rift in 2005.
Tony Elias, the man with the most radical riding style in MotoGP, is now looking elsewhere for next season. Sources say Elias' demands were too high - so much so that the team didn't want to take negotiations any further.
