MotoGP: Gibernau confirmed for Ducati in 2009

Speedy Spaniard Sete to ride fifth Ducati in new satellite team run by Angel Nieto

by Visordown News

VISORDOWN WAS the first to tell you of the plans to put Sete Gibernau on a fifth Ducati in MotoGP next year and now the Spanish star is claimed to have confirmed the deal.

According to the Spanish press last night, Gibernau has told them that he will be in MotoGP next year in a Ducati satellite / factory team run by racing legend Angel Nieto. The squad will be backed by Onde 2000, a huge Spanish building concern.

Although the formalities of the deal have yet to be signed (like the actual grid spot in the championship) the Spanish are saying that it is a foregone conclusion that Gibernau will be on the bike and the deal is done.

Expect official announcements about the only man to really ruffle Valentino Rossi in the 990cc class at the Indianapolis round in just over a weeks time.

Not really a fan of Sete, but I did enjoyed the battles Sete and Vale had when he was on top of his game and as it said in the article, he was the only man to ruffle Valentino in the 990cc class.

Which is why I think he should retire gracefully from MOTO GP, if he found it hard competeing against Rossi in that era, how will he feel when being beaten by the likes of Casey Stoner, Dani Pedrosa, Jorge Lorenzo, Andrea Dovizioso, racers half his age.

Your better than that Sete.  If Valentino Rossi was not in GP i think he would have been world Champion at least twice, now with Rossi still in the class (and with a hand on the 2008 world championship), along with the younger, talented, faster riders, I think he will find it hard.

Good luck Sete, prove me wrong!

Rossi is heading for his eight title, don't think he will loose much sleep over Sete returning.

Stoner and Sete in the same team would be great, they could have a team whinge about Rossi.

Bringing him in as a spoiler? Maybe trying to get him up the front and mess Rossi's race up?

For a moment I thought the mugshot was Piers Morgan.

I'm not a great fan of Gibernau, but I really hope he does well. If he's got a halfway decent bike he could be up there, putting Stoner and Pedrosa's noses out of joint. I'd hate to see him come back as an also-ran.

The crash Sete had when he ran into Capirossi and jammed his brake lever on, is still one of the funniest things I have ever seen.

Hi is a bad loser and a mardy bugger.......maybe he is related to Stoner???

Another over hyped daygo with too much sponsorship cash behind him.

At this rate AGO will be making a fucking come back to try and get his GP win record back.
