MotoGP: FIM announce 2009 calendar

Just in - next year's MotoGP dates for your diary

THE FIM has just announced the updated provisional dates for next year's MotoGP season.

There has been a change to next year’s GP calendar, with the GP of San Marino & Riviera di Rimini moved a week forward to avoid a clash with the F1 race at Imola. The race will be on September 6, rather than September 13.

The 18-race calendar still begins at Qatar on April 12 and closes at Valencia on November 8, but at this stage remains provisional.

The release reads as follows:

2009 FIM MotoGP World Championship calendar (provisional):

Date - Grand Prix - Circuit

April 12th* - Qatar - Losail
April 26th - Japan - Motegi
May 3rd - Spain - Jerez
May 17th - France - Le Mans
May 31st - Italy - Mugello
June 14th - Catalunya - Catalunya
June 27th** - Netherlands - Assen
July 5th*** - United States - Laguna Seca
July 19th - Germany - Sachsenring
July 26th - Great Britain - Donington Park
August 16th - Czech Republic - Brno
August 30th - Indianapolis - Indianapolis
September 6th - San Marino & Riviera di Rimini - Misano
September 20th - Hungary - Balaton
October 4th - Portugal - Estoril
October 18th - Australia - Phillip Island
October 25th - Malaysia - Sepang
November 8th - Valencia Ricardo Tormo - Valencia
