COLIN EDWARDS has said that the crucial talks with his Tech 3 Yamaha team about whether he stays with them or not for next year are going well.
Speaking yesterday at the pre-event press conference for this weekend’s Sachsenring GP, the 34-year-old former World Superbike champion said: “I am extremely happy. I think Herve (Poncharal) and Yamaha as well are keen to keep me. We have got some terms and conditions we need to discuss but things are looking good. This is what I want to do. I have got a good crew, a good crew chief, and it is looking OK.
“So far this year, apart from the DNF at Jerez where it felt like we could have been on the podium or close to it, it has been good and I can´t complain. I think everybody is pretty happy on our team.
“We had a good race two weeks ago and now we come here, I know we´ll get the bike set-up well and we´ll keep it rolling, so I´m looking forward to it. Obviously we´ll have to wait and see what happens with the weather though.”
