MotoGP: Biaggi or Checa for 2009 comeback

Hot news links high profile WSB pair to Kawasaki GP ride

by Visordown News

HOT, HOT rumours literally just kicking off in both Spain and Italy right now that both Carlos Checa or Max Biaggi could be about to make an incredible return to MotoGP in 2009!

The news has been sparked by Jorge Martinez, left reeling after his plans to sign up Toni Elias were blown out of the water when Elias signed for Fausto Gresini last week. Martinez is now known to be looking for a rider to put on a third Kawasaki on the premier class grid.

The story has also been sparked by recent comments from Biaggi, saying: "I have read some things about me and next year. At the moment I am deep in the championship I am racing in and will not comment.

"Soon though, I hope to be able to say for sure where I am riding next year."

Biaggi is known to have had his nose put out of joint by the collapse of the deal to seat him on the Xerox Ducati WSB machine as a replacement for Troy Bayliss - that ride is now going to Noriyuki Haga.

Mr Marv

Are there not enough up and coming young riders?

Why drag back all the old school "nearly" has beens?

Ducati Pete

Max could be awesome on a 800, cornerspeed was always his strong point.

Saying that, the kwack is wank, so he'll just get pissed off.

kwakalex
i dont know it could be funny, isint kawasaki about the only team he hasnt pissed off, just think rossi and max back on the same circuits, only rossi on a decent bike and max on a bike just making up the numbers, max and rossi at each other again, i think it could be great

Mr Marv

It would be Rossi, Biaggi and Gibernau all over again!!!

Fuck me, have i gone back in time!

Just think of the in-fighting......

FatBoyTim

the sport is more or less a spanish italian love fest, and they would rather see has beens than up and coming talent

I would rather see Bautista, Kallio et al flying round personally

Dont get me wrong i love the GP's but superbike racing is where its all at for me at the moment, and the real roads racing

mrdrink
Kallio is on a Ducati next year if the papers are right

Dar

Bring back Max

You have to admit that there has been that little something missing from MotoGP since he....cough.....left!

Don't bother with Careless Chucker.

Let the Biaggi / Rossi mind games begin

Ducati Pete
I'd rather see Max on the Yamaha Italia bike in WSB.

FatBoyTim
i dont think that if they do come back they will get within 5 places of the front guys anyway

Posted: 17/09/2008 at 22:52

Ducati Pete

Tim, it's a kwack ride, and a customer team at that.  Not really a one way ticket to podium heaven.

How many top 5's do think Melandri will score on the full works machine?

Marko

Checa to Kawasaki...........i can only think that Kawasaki must have a surplus of fairings and frame they want to get rid of!!!!

Why not just buy a nice crusher instead...probably have more personality aswell.

Biaggi's mentally ill and going bald, it always makes me laugh in how fast he takes his helmet off and the caps straight on his head in a flash.
