THE HOT MotoGP rumour this morning is that 250GP star Alvaro Bautista has signed a pre-contract to ride for the Suzuki MotoGP team in 2010 - putting an end to the speculation that the blue bike squad was trying to get Ben Spies back on side after the American moved to Yamaha this year.
Bautista's management met with Suzuki boss Paul Denning at Jerez at the weekend and according to paddock insiders the deal has already been done with the Spaniard.
Bautista's current team boss Jorge Martinez has been reported in the Spanish press as saying: "With the no novice rule being brought in I do not know if they will be able to run Alvaro as a novice in the factory team but he wants to be in MotoGP. He is very advanced and if he has a chance on good machinery in the class then of course he should have taken it."
Bautista is one of the hot properties in the quarter-litre class and has held talks with Yamaha, Ducati and Honda about the move to the big bike class.
