MAKING his NW200 debut Jeremy McWilliams scored a podium in the Supertwins in his rookie road race.

In a wet-to-drying race the former MotoGP rider finished in second behind Ryan Farquhar aboard the KMR Kawasaki ER6, prepared by the race winner.

In third was Michael Rutter, who rode an impressive final lap after taking advantage of his dry tyres on a drying track to claim the final podium position. The top five was rounded out by James Hillier and Adrian Archibald.

The other race on Thursday evening came from the Superstock class. Alastair Seeley dominated on the Tyco Suzuki, winning by 22.5 seconds ahead of fellow Northern Ireland rider Lee Johnston on a Ducati Panigale and Cameron Donald third on the Wilson Craig Honda.

No surprise McWilliams is quick on the roads, too! In the runup to the TT, the question might not be, "What does a riding genius do on his first 'real roads' race -- the more interesting question is, "What would a regular bloke, like me, do?"

That is the story of Riding Man. In 2002, I quit my job, sold everything I owned, and moved to the Isle of Man to study the course. I practiced, qualified, and finished -- although about all I can say is, 'not right f*in last'!

If you want a great read in the runup to the TT, try Riding Man.
