Dakar competitor on the mend after suffering life-threatening injuries in 2010 Rally
FOLLOWING THE accident that almost cost him his life, officials in Chile have announced Dakar motorcyclist Luca Manca has recovered enough from his injuries to return to Italy for further treatment.
Manca suffered life-threatening head injuries during Stage Six of the 2010 Dakar Rally, when he fell from his bike in northern Chile. Following the crash, Manca was airlifted to Santiago and placed in an induced coma.
Officials at Mutual de Seguridad Hospital say they expected the 29-year-old to return to Italy in the next two days.
