GARY JOHNSON won the Supersport TT race with over an eight-second margin over John McGuinness.

Pre-race favourite, Michael Dunlop retired with bike trouble while hard charing Cameron Donald was also forced to retire, allowing Johnson to finish ahead of John McGuinness and Guy Martin.

Johnson said after the race: "It's nice to have a win in the 600 on the smaller bike and get my first but hopefully I can work towards getting one on the big bike now. I was a bit moody with myself after the Superbike race earlier in the week so it's nice to have got the win and hopefully I can do it again in the Senior now. I really went for it in the Supersport and that's what I will have to do again to come out on top and that would make a good week a great one."
