IAN HUTCHINSON set a new lap record for a Superstock bike in the Superstock TT with the Padgetts Honda rider setting a best of 129.746mph on the final lap of the race.
The incredible lap from the Superstock Honda was the final note in a thrilling big bike race which - for the most part - saw less than a second splitting Hutchinson from Guy Martin, who led the race for the majority after the first hectic lap which saw the lead change four times while the lap record was broken for lap upon lap.
By lap three it looked as though Martin had the race under control as he pulled out a three second lap at Glen Helen but Hutchinson responded and by the end of the lap the lead was whittled down to just 0.04s.
Despite a problem with his petrol cap on his final pit-stop, nothing could hold Hutchinson back and he took what was his second win of the day, following on from his Supersport win from earlier in the day.
Martin eventually finished the Superstock race second with Keith Amor third, giving exactly the same top three as in the Supersport race.
In the 600s Martin was lucky to finish after mechanical problems plagued him once again, a gasket blew on his Honda and he dropped from the lead, lucky to finish the race at all.
