Cadwell Park, Castle Coombe and Snetterton confirmed for next year's zero-emission race series
FOLLOWING the success of the world's first emission-free road race, the TTXGP, the Auto Cycle Union (ACU) has confirmed three events for the inaugural TTXGP UK Championships 2010.
The events will be held at Cadwell Park, Lincolnshire (3-4 July), Snetterton, Norfolk (17-18 July) and Castle Combe, Wiltshire (11 September).
TTXGP founder, Azhar Hussain, said, “We are delighted to get these UK events off the ground and it is thanks to all those involved who have worked hard to make this happen. A new generation of motorsport requires a new way of thinking – it needs to be flexible and adapt at any given moment to change. It needs blind belief and utter commitment to push it over the line. It is outstanding to partner with organisations like the ACU and BMF who not only have the willingness to move with us but also the practical ability to put TTXGP UK in motion.”
Dave Luscombe of the ACU said, “The ACU is delighted to be a partner in the creation and running of the world’s first domestic road race championship for electric motorcycles. As the National Governing Body for motorcycle sport in the United Kingdom (excluding Northern Ireland), the ACU has nurtured and developed British motorcycle sport for over a century. The ACU believes that the development of this new and innovative branch of motorcycle racing will help secure the future of sport for the next 100 years.”
