Dainese announce TT Partnership
Italian leather manufacturer named as official safety partner for this year's event
DAINESE HAS announced
the company's appointment as the ‘Official Safety Partner’ for the Isle of Man TT
Races for 2008.
As part of the significant deal, the TT’s two key Superbike races
will be known as The Isle of Man Dainese Superbike Race and The Isle of Man Dainese
Senior TT Race.
The company's founder and managing director, Mr Lino
Dainese, will be visiting the Isle of Man over the TT fortnight.
To mark the occasion AGV will be launching a new Giacomo Agostini replica
helmet based on the paint scheme the Italian rider made so famous in a career that
saw him win 122 Grand Prix; a feat still to be beaten.
Last month Dainese signed a
deal with TT star and British Superbike campaigner, Guy Martin. The 25-year-old
Lincolnshire rider, who finished second in last year’s Superbike and Senior races,
is thrilled to be involved with Dainese. “This is a huge honour,” he said. “I’ll be
doing everything I can to win this year, and I’ll be working hard with Dainese in
helping to develop the D-Air system.”
Dainese will work with Guy Martin to help
develop the innovative D-Air system revealed on visordown.com a few months back.
The company are also planning a host of activities at the 101st TT festival. At the Villa
Marina in Douglas, there will be a free exhibition of race suits from some of their
53 motorcycle racing world champions - leathers that have protected riders such as
Barry Sheene, Kenny Roberts, Valentino Rossi and Troy Bayliss. It will be the first
time that such a collection of leather suits has been displayed outside Italy.
