PHOENIX, the UK importer of Arai helmets, has announced the 2010 Craig Jones Arai Sponsorship Award has been presented to 16 year-old British 125GP Championship contender Deane Brown.

The Arai Sponsorship Award, which helps young, upcoming racers with helmets and race support for a full season, is now in its second year and is dedicated to the memory of Craig Jones, one the UK’s finest and most talented racers. Craig lost his life in a World Supersport crash at Brands Hatch in 2008.

Craig's father, Steve commented; “Giving this to Deane, in Craig’s name, means so much to us and we know it would to him as he was a great fan of young racing talent.”

Dean was suitably pleased on receiving the Award; “It will be an honour to wear Arai in memory of Craig, as he had a big influence on me at the start of my big bike career. I’ll wear it with pride and my helmet will show Craig’s racing number – 18 – on each side. I can’t thank, Steve and Yvonne and Arai enough.”
