MARC COMA has left hospital after badly breaking his wrist earlier this week and says that he will be fit in time for this year's Dakar race.
His wrist has been pulled apart, fixed with a plate with nine screws in it and set in a cast. His collarbone has also been plated and pinned and now the Spaniard says the plan is to ditch the summer and repair in time for the big end of year event.
Coma was injured when he fell from his KTM racebike onto large rocks during the Sardinia rally a few days ago.
He said: "I know that the fall has compromised my work this year but I will try to recover as quickly as possible. Luckily it has happened at a time in the year that doesn't have a lot of races in it.
"Now the plan is to be fit and back around September so that I can take part in a couple of World Championship rounds before arriving in good shape for the Dakar."
