CHRIS STALKER Walker has signed to ride a Yamaha R1 for Rob McElnea in the 2009 British Superbike Championship.
Walker spent 2008 racing in the World Supersport Championship for Kawasaki until he jumped ship in time for the Brands Hatch round of the World Superbike Championship, switching motorcycles to ride a Honda Fireblade for the Paul Bird squad.
During the last third of the 2008 season, Walker made it clear that he wanted to return to the BSB scene to compete for the title, saying that he had: "Unfinished business," in the series where he finished runner up four times. The move has put Walker back riding for Rob Mac, which would be the second time the pair have teamed up, the last being in 1997 when Walker was team-mate to that year's Champion Niall Mackenzie, Chris going on to finish that year second overall.
Visordown has confirmation from a member within the team that the deal's done. Expect an official announcement from the team tomorrow (Weds).
Walker is back!
