BSB: Surgeons save Harris' little finger

'They were actually considering amputating it' says BSB hard man

BSB HARD MAN Karl Harris says that he's now had his mashed little finger reconstructed and will be firing on all cylinders for the next round of the domestic series at Croft in two weeks time. Harris fell off his Rob Mac Racing Yamaha at Cadwell Park last weekend in the first race and the little finger on his left hand was crushed.

He continued to race though and managed to get as high as sixth in the second big bike outing. He said: "I had the finger operated on Tuesday to put it back together, at one point they were actually considering amputating it. I have like a gold plated fingernail where they have done the work on it, but it is currently wrapped under bandages. I only had a local anaesthetic and it was right down to the bone. But it has been reconstructed now, they can't do anything for the bones as they have to heal, but the rest of it is fine and it will be all sorted for Croft.

"I am looking forward to Croft and I am hoping that we can get a good result there. We know the bike works well and we need to prove that we can win. Fingers crossed we can have a good weekend as the team have been working so hard and we have been so unlucky this year. I want another race like me and Leon (Haslam) had back in 2005 - that was mega. I know we can do it, I just have my fingers crossed that we have a good weekend."

I dont know why anyone would want to sign Harris on, HM plant Honda. . .binned it most of the time, same with Hydrex Honda, and now with Rob Mac Yamaha

i know the guy bins it a lot ,but y2blade,he's not shite. maybe he needs to address his riding style to stop him crashing ,but i'd pay for his speed.
