Ruben Xaus will ride the new BMW in next year's WSB

BMW HAS been out testing its new S 1000 RR superbike again, in readiness for next year's WSB championship - this time at the Lausitzring circuit.

Steve Martin, Kevin Curtain and Jeremy McWilliams were out on the bike again as the factory started the long programme of electronics testing on the bike which Ruben Xaus will contest in next year's WSB series.

Berti Hauser, general manager of BMW motorsport said: "I am very happy with the enormous professionalism of the three riders who have worked so hard on testing the bike for us.

"They have given us a lot of information. We know that we have an enormous challenge ahead, but are prepared for it. Until now we have worked very little on the electronics, because we first wanted to have the foundation for the bike in place, something that I believe we now have. If our project continues in this way I think we can surprise some the next season.”
