Blusens shelve Moto2 project

Front-runners for new MotoGP underclass held back by Dorna rule changes

BLUSENS have put their Moto2 project on hold because of regulation changes for the proposed new class by MotoGP bosses Dorna.

The project, arguably the highest-profile Moto2 machine so far developed and pretty far along in its testing programme, has been shelved for the time being after Dorna announced that the new middleweight MotoGP class will be a single-make engine series.

The regulations, revealed first by visordown last month, outlined the controversial move which has reportedly incensed the Blusens team. According to team insiders, the 600cc bike which was designed from scratch has already produced lap times that would have qualified for a race in the Spanish Supersport class.
