AMA: Hodgson sixth despite crash

FORMER BSB CHAMPION Neil Hodgson had an eventful race at Laguna in the AMA championship, ending up sixth after being knocked off his Honda at second turn of the opening lap.

Hodgson was knocked down in the second turn but escaped unhurt. The race was stopped immediately and Hodgson was able to re-start.

Hodgson said: "I’m really happy. You can't believe how I feel. I'm just over the moon."

Hodgson has been rehabilitating from a severely separated shoulder and punctured lung he suffered in a motocross prang back in March.
