Race organisers ask MotoGP to switch Silverstone GP date
THE ACU are to make representations to Dorna, the governing body for MotoGP, and Silverstone circuit over the clash between the TT races and next year's British Grand Prix. The event has been brought forward one month from its usual slot to June 6; a move that sees the first Silverstone GP in over twenty years now clash with TT week.Gary Thompson, general secretary of motorcycle sport regulators the ACU, said the organisation was working hard to try to resolve the matter:'The ACU is making representations to Dorna, the FIM and the Silverstone race circuit regarding the unfortunate potential date clash and we are doing what we can to try to rectify the matter."TT week or British GP: which would you prefer?
I don't prefer either. I enjoy the close racing of a curcuit race due to the inherent safety of a purpose built track, but i'm also awe struck by the sheer balls and guts of TT and road racers in general. i hope a compromise can be reached where both are run at seperate times.
Or we could use the TT as a scoring GP round????
