What price a Batcycle?

Well, £106,000, actually

LAST week we reported that the (possibly) original Batcycle was up for auction alongside a replica of the 1960s Batmobile – and it turned out the auctioneer's estimate was bang on when the pair crossed the block for $170,500.

That's £106,000 in English, and it could prove to be a bargain if the buyer can somehow conclusively prove the Yamaha 250 two-stroke, complete with a sidecar carrying Robin's go-kart. The real Batmobile from the TV series is coming up for auction in January and is expected to take more than $2 million. In the case of last weekend's Batcycle auction, RM Auctions couldn't guarantee the bike's provenance due to a lack of documentation.

Evel Knievel's own 2005 Harley V-Rod, complete with modifications and “Evel Knievel” on the tank, went for $51,700 (£32,000) at the same auction.
