THE HALO inspired helmet put up for auction last month by MotoGP star Jorge Lorenzo has been won by Visordown reader Steve Squires.

The helmet, worn by Lorenzo at last year's Grand Prix de la Comunitat Valenciana, went under the hammer last month on eBay for just under £1350, with proceeds of the sale going to help deprived children in Nepal.

Steve is already an avid racing memorabilia collector. His treasure trove consists of helmets worn by: Casey Stoner, Wayne Rainey, Marco Melandri, Norick Abe, Sete Gibernau, Nobby Ueda and Bradley Smith.
