Explore New Zealand's stunning South Island. After collecting your bike from VFR-NZ in the centre of Christchurch, you're free to explore at your leisure. There's the beautiful wine growing region of Marlborough in the north of the island and Fjordland to the south west, or there's the dramatic tropical rainforest and Franz Joseph Glacier on the west coast, reached after an amazing ride across the Southern Alps and close by Mount Cook.
Booking and prices
Prices range according to the time of year for flights (typically from around £630 per person), and the type of accommodation chosen. Bike hire is £700 per week including unlimited mileage and comprehensive insurance, plus GST, which is New Zealand's equivalent to British VAT at 12.5%. There is a pillion passenger supplement of £50 per week. A two-week trip in New Zealand including flights and accommodation would be approximately £2,500 per person (solo rider) or about £3,500, two up.
