US engineer develops dedicated V8 motorcycle transmission

Belt-driven system can handle V8 power and torque, says manufacturer

AN AMERICAN motorcycle engineering company have come up with a dedicated transmission system designed specifically for use in conjunction with a motorbike and a V8 engine.

Sabertooth Motorcycles, in partnership with Taylor Race Engineering, have developed a new multi-speed transmission for all Sabertooth V8 Motorcycles.

“We are very excited to be working with Sabertooth Motorcycles on this project,” said Mike Watson, CEO of Taylor Race Engineering. “The idea of ultimate performance is in line with our own vision and we are thrilled to be the first company to design a multi-speed, purpose-built motorcycle transmission for a V8 motorcycle.”

The new DynaClaw transmission will have 4 forward speeds and an electric reverse and will be used with a Gates Polychain carbon GT belt drive or a 630 chain drive on select models.
