A US BIKER has been awarded $8.6 million (£)6,070,089 after he was involved in a motorcycle accident caused by wild pigs.
Adam Rogers, 45, collided with wild pigs on Highway 1 in Monterey County, California, in December 2003. The former karate instructor's injuries left him wheelchair-bound after the smash.
A jury ordered the state’s Department of Transport to cough up the multi-million dollar sum because officials knew wild pigs regularly crossed that particular stretch of road but did nothing to address it.
Rogers' wife, Kristin Finn, was awarded a further $500,000 for "loss of consortium."
