A RIDER AND his pillion passenger were killed yesterday (Wednesday) when their motorcycle collided head-on with a car in North Yorkshire.
The male rider and female pillion passenger died following a collision with a Vauxhall Vectra on the slip-road for the A64 from the A162 at Tadcaster at 1930 BST on Wednesday.
They were pronounced dead at the scene.
The male driver of the Vauxhall escaped without injury.
Police appealed for witnesses to the crash or anyone who had seen either of the vehicles in the period leading up to it to contact them.
A spokesman said: "In particular, it is understood that the man and woman on the motorcycle had been riding in a group of six or more bikes from Boston Spa towards Tadcaster on the A659."
