Triumph, Harley and Buell unleash new models

Three biking heavyweights announce their radical mode line-up for this year's show

by Visordown News

Innovative motorcycle manufacturers Triumph, Harley-Davidson and Buell have confirmed their exciting 2009 model launches at The Carole Nash International Motorcycle and Scooter Show, held this year from 28th November to 7th December. All three manufacturers are set to launch a mix of cutting edge technology and awesome cruiser style at the Show, giving visitors the first chance to get up-close and personal with these models.

The new Triumph Daytona 675 has been developed in the white-heat of race competition, currently leading the British Supersport series and is the only three-cylinder machine in this class. The 2009 model has lost 3kg of weight and produces 3bhp more power than last year’s model, developments that will keep it in form in this highly-competitive class. The race going version of this machine, ridden by Glen Richards, will also be on display, showing the direct development link between circuit and road machinery.

The successful Triumph Street Triple machine now has a higher spec version; the Street Triple R. Using components usually found on a race-replica machine, the R boasts fully-adjustable 41mm upside-down forks, radial brakes from the Daytona 675 and an upgraded rear suspension system.

An all-new Triumph Thunderbird will be on display delivering sumptuous style and comfort that will help this 1,600cc belt-drive machine compete in the established cruiser sector.

Harley-Davidson have taken their aggressive V-Rod machine and created something even more menacing; the V-Rod Muscle! Angular lines, a big-bore dual exhaust and gaping air scoops means the looks match its 1200cc Revolution V-Twin engine.

Harley-Davidson is most recognised for its iconic ‘Touring’ models and the major 2009 changes they have received have been aimed at improving handling and comfort while retaining these machines heritage and style. An all-new rolling chassis combines revised frame, swingarm, wheels and tyres, resulting in sharper handling, more luggage room, better passenger comfort and heat management.

Harley-Davidson sister company Buell will unveil the 1125CR, a radical, ultra aggressive café racer styled Streetfighter! The 1125CR has been developed for maximum torque with a low geared 146bhp engine running a belt drive through a new, longer swingarm for more stability. The styling of the machine pays homage to the café racer style with a stubby rear cowling, mini-flyshield and ‘clubman’ style handlebars.
