Thieves steal young racer's dream

Hopes of title glory in tatters

Honda CR85...similar to the stolen bike

HEARTLESS THIEVES have stolen a young motocross racer's bike, shattering the youngsters dreams of winning the Scottish Youth Clubs Championship.

Thirteen-year-old Fraser Flockhart's Honda CR85 was stolen, along with his father's KTM250SX, from the garage at his home. Fraser was lying in second place in the championship after only his first year of competitive racing.

Police believe the bikes had been targetted, rather than an opportunist crime. Nothing else was taken from the Flockhart's garage when the theft took place in the early hours of Sunday morning. The thieves forced the garage doors open and made off with the machines without a trace.

Mr Flockhart, a former Scottish Enduro champion, said he had bought the competition motorbike for off-road racing for his son last year. To add to the Flockhart's problems neither bike was insured.

Fraser's bike is a red Honda CR Big Wheel - frame number JH2HE07A16K100292. It has number 615 on the panels. His father's is a bright orange 2004 KTM 250 SX, with a side stand fitted and no exhaust - frame number is VBKMN2344M374304.

Anyone with information should call North Berwick police on 01620-893 585.
